Further to the letter from the Chairman of the General Committee of the Balzan Foundation Prizes, we invite you to nominate your candidates - personalities whom you consider to be eminent and internationally recognised as such - together with the following documentation, which is essential for the nomination to be considered:
- a statement (1-2 pages) specifying the work and publications on which the proposal is based (in French, Italian, English or German);
- for applications in the humanities and social sciences: a bibliography (including the publications mentioned in the previous paragraph, with an indication of the publisher, date of publication and title of any translation of the original work);
- for applications in the sciences: a list of the 10 or 20 most important publications, with full bibliographical details;
- a curriculum vitae containing current position, main academic activities, date and place of birth, nationality, place of residence and address;
- a recent photograph (high resolution, jpg by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) with copyright details if applicable.
Prizes may be awarded to individuals or to working groups that have achieved joint results. There may be more than one nominee for each subject, and the nominees need not necessarily belong to the institution proposing the prize or to its country of origin.
Self-nominations will not be considered.
Proposals must reach the General Awards Committee by 15 March 2024.
