Fundamental research is based on border-free networks. The F.R.S.-FNRS encourages scientific collaborations between the researchers of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and their counterparts abroad. For this purpose, bilateral agreements on scientific cooperation have been concluded with sister institutions worldwide, designed to assist the circulation of researchers, promote the constitution of poles of excellence and support the creation of new research areas.
