EURAXESS
The FNRS is Euraxess BHO for the Wallonia-Brussels Federation
Launched by the European Commission in 2004 for researchers who work or want to come and work in Europe, the Euraxess network aims to:
- promote and facilitate their mobility;
- help them develop their career;
- create conditions for open, transparent and merit-based (OTM-R) recruitment procedures;
- promote cooperation between research organizations;
- foster an attractive labor market, in Europe and beyond.
In total, 43 European countries and 9 global hubs (Africa, ASEAN or Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Brazil, China, India, Japan, CELAC or Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, Korea and North America) are part of the Euraxess network.
The network has 1 European portal and 43 national portals listing job, funding and hosting offers for researchers. It also has more than 600 support centers (bridgeheads or Bridgehead Organizations – BHOs , service centers and local contact points) which are structured to meet the needs of researchers at national and local levels.
Belgium has three BHOs ensuring coordination with local service centers and contact points: Belspo for federal institutions, the WEWIS department for the service centers located in Flanders and the F.R.S.-FNRS for the service centers of the universities of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
