Audacious Medical Grants (AMG)

The Audacious Medical Grant (AMG) is a funding tool to support medical or biomedical research projects that are original and daring but which do not find support in traditional funding channels due to a lack of preliminary data, the absence of previous work or an unusual methodology. The term “bold” means that there is a significant risk that the project will produce little or no tangible scientific results because of its innovative nature or its complexity.

 

AMG-PEDIATRICS

AMG-Pediatrics is a funding instrument supported by a private sponsor for which the FNRS uses the expertise of the SVS-4 Scientific Commission to carry out the evaluation of the submitted projects. The accumulation between the classic FNRS instruments (PDR, CDR, MIS, etc.) and the AMG-Pediatrics is authorized for filing and granting.

The AMG-Pediatrics call covers all pathologies affecting pediatric or fetal patients/subjects, including infectious diseases and vaccinology, immune deficiencies, cardiovascular, respiratory and metabolic diseases, congenital, developmental, neurological and psychiatric disorders, cancers, etc. 

  • Funding can be requested for a maximum of 24 months.
  • The maximum funding that can be requested is 120,000 euros. 

 

AMG-NEURO

The AMG-NEURO is intended for a single and eligible promoter of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and concerns neuroscience . The submitted project must allow a better understanding of the nervous system and its pathologies and/or the development of new therapeutic avenues and/or an improvement in the prevention or detection of nervous system pathologies.   

  • The financing duration is 24 months maximum.
  • The financing amount is 120,000 euros maximum.

 

AMG-ONCO

The AMG-ONCO call is intended for a single and eligible promoter of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and concerns all fields of the oncology . The submitted project must allow: a better understanding of the mechanisms leading to the development of cancers and/or the development of new therapeutic avenues and/or an improvement in the prevention or detection of cancers. 

  • The financing duration is 24 months maximum.
  • The financing amount is 120,000 euros maximum.
