Two ERC Proof of Concept 2023 for FNRS researchers

The European Research Council (ERC) has announced the award of a further 102 Proof of Concept grants, bringing to 240 the total number of researchers who have benefited from this type of funding in the three competition rounds over the past year. Each grant is worth €150,000 and helps ERC recipients bridge the gap between their pioneering research results and the early stages of commercialisation. The competition has awarded a total of €36 million in innovation funding. The grants programme is part of the EU's Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.


Among the recipients of these grants are 2 FNRS researchers:


Ana Beloqui García, FNRS Research Associate at UCLouvain
Project: HormoCaps - Gut HORMOne stimulating CAPSules for the treatment of gastrointestinal metabolic disorders
She is developing the ERC-2019-STG NanoGut.


Virginie Van Ingelgom, FNRS Senior Research Associate at UCLouvain
Project: DACAT - Developing an Abductive Coding Analysis Toolkit
She recently developed the ERC-2016-STG QUALIDEM.


There are no other funded researchers in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. There are 6 Belgian winners.
