Sophie Lucas, Professor, UCLouvain - "Autoimmune diseases". Sophie Lucas and her team have been very interested in Tregs and TGF-β in the context of cancer. As part of a WELBIO project, they are tackling autoimmune diseases via the same immune cells that block excessive immune responses: the idea is to develop a drug to increase the function of the Treg and TGF-β they produce.
