Inclusive communication at the FNRS
The inclusive communication project began in 2023, with the creation of an internal inclusive writing reference group, made up of eight people from different departments. After being trained in inclusive writing techniques, this group wrote a guidance document which was validated by the Management and department managers of the Fund. At the beginning of March 2024, this document was distributed and published on the intranet. Meetings were then organized to present the document in the different departments and answer the first questions. A functional email address has also been created so that everyone can send questions to group members. A questions and answers document has also been integrated into the intranet, so that the answers can be known to all staff. This document will be regularly updated, based on questions received.
This procedure makes it possible to begin the implementation of inclusive communication in FNRS documents. However, given the large quantity of writing to be modified and the timetable constraints, updates will be carried out gradually.
