Thirty-seven research groups will receive €395 million in total to address some of the world’s most formidable research problems spanning a range of scientific disciplines. The funding helps groups of outstanding researchers to pool different skills, knowledge and resources to push the frontiers of our knowledge. The ERC Synergy Grant scheme is part of the EU's research and innovation programme, Horizon Europe. 

Among the winners : Laurent Nguyen, FNRS Research Director, ULiège, for a project untitled UFOLD : « Unfolding the dynamic interplay of mechanical and molecular processes in brain folding »

IMD is organized by the Young Belgian Society for Microbiology (link to:https://belsocmicrobio.be/ybsm/), whose Board of Directors includes Aishwarya Saxena, FRIA Fellow at UNamur. 

This awareness-raising day takes place at the Musée des Sciences Naturelles in Brussels, with a host of fun and educational activities to enable children to learn more about microbes, their presence and their role in our daily lives.
