Generet Award for Rare Diseases 2020
On the initiative of the “Fund Generet” managed by the King Baudouin Foundation, the Generet Award for Rare Diseases will be granted in 2020 to an internationally established investigator with outstanding scientific achievements to conduct a research project in Belgium in the field of rare diseases. Please note that rare cancers and rare adverse drug events will not be taken into account in the frame of this call.
The Award amounts to 1.000.000€ over 4 years. However, a first installment of 500.000€ will be credited for 2 years and a second installment of 500.000€ will be subjected to a positive evaluation through a mid-term scientific, financial and communication report.
The Applicant must hold a PhD or have at least 4 years of equivalent research experience in a relevant field. He/she must be affiliated to a Belgian University or a Belgian University Hospital or an eligible Research Institute (cf. annex to the regulations). He/she must provide the evidence of his/her affiliation to his/her institution until December 31, 2025 and not reach the retirement limit during the project timeframe.
Translational approach, international collaboration and multidisciplinarity are considered as valuable assets for a successful research project.
