FNRS.awards : Baptiste Souillard, Laureate of the McKinsey & Company Scientific Award

  • Baptiste Souillard, Postdoctoral researcher at ULB and former FNRS Research Fellow, has been awarded the McKinsey & Company Scientific Award for his doctoral thesis in social, economic and management sciences, entitled: " Essays on international trade and corporate tax avoidance".

  •  

    "Very honored to receive this interdisciplinary research award, and very happy that tax optimization has finally become a major topic!", says Baptiste Souillard.

  • This €5,000 award is awarded annually for the social and economic relevance or practical applicability of a doctoral thesis in one of the following field s: exact sciences - applied sciences - social, economic or management sciences - biomedical sciences.


FNRS.awards : The team of Thomas Schubert, Robin Evrard and Pierre-Louis Docquier (UCLouvain), laureates of the Oswald Vander Veken Prize 2023

  • Thomas Schubert, Associate Senior Registrar at UCLouvain, Robin Evrard, FNRS Aspirant at UCLouvain and Pierre-Louis Docquier, Senior Registrar at UCLouvain have been awarded the Oswald Vander Veken Prize for their contribution to improving bone sarcoma surgery.
  • The prize, worth €25,000, is awarded every three years for an original contribution to understanding tumours of the musculoskeletal system, their causes, prevention, diagnosis and/or treatment.


FNRS.AWARDS: Dimitri Konen, Laureate of the Antonella Karlson Prize 2023

  • Dimitri KONEN, FNRS Research Fellow at the ULB, has been awarded the 2023 Antonella Karlson Prize for his doctoral thesis in mathematics.
  • "I am very pleased to be the winner of the Antonella Karlson Prize for my research in mathematical statistics. As a young researcher, getting recognition for my thesis work is very encouraging and motivating for future projects", says Dimitri Konen.
  • The €5,000 prize is awarded every two years in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation for a doctoral thesis in an exact science field.


Congratulations to the two winners of a European University Institute (EUI) Doctoral Grant

Markus MÜNCH (Belgium) for his project entitled: "Heterogeneous Effects of Monetary Policy on Households". Mark SOLER (Malta) for his project entitled: "When Courts Apply Science to Policy Choices: Environmental Constitutionalism, Aarhus and the Search for a European Model of Injctive Relief in Environmental Litigation".


RESULTS | Call Audacious Medical Grant-Onco 2023

The FNRS Board of Directors has awarded the AMG-Onco 2023 to Michael Herfs, FNRS Qualified Researcher, ULiège, for his project: Impact of human papillomavirus infections on stemness/differentiation properties of cervical junctional cells.
