Results of the bilateral call for mobility projects 2022 with "FAPESP" (Brazil, São Paulo State)

The two teams selected as part of the FNRS-FAPESP call for mobility projects (Brazil) are known! Here they are:

  • Benoît HACKENS (FNRS Postdoctoral Researcher, UCLouvain) and Raul de OLIVEIRA FREITAS (Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory) for their project "SynchrotrOn Nanoscale imAging and spectroscopy of Twisted grAphene"
  • Mathieu JAVAUX (Professor, UCLouvain) and Quirijn de JONG van LIER (Universidade de São Paulo) for their project "Improving Transpiration and Root water uptake predictions under drought: a comparison of modeling and experimental efforts"

The call for projects was launched at the end of July 2022 as part of the “PINT-BILAT-M” instrument. Funding is granted for bilateral research mobility projects, collaborations between a researcher from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and a researcher from a FNRS partner agency, in this case FAPESP (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paolo).

Selected projects receive full funding. Belgian teams funded by the FNRS will receive a maximum amount of €15,000 over a period of two years for travel, scientific workshops/conferences and, possibly, operating costs. The Brazilian teams are funded by FAPESP.

First call THCS - Webinar March 16

The first transnational call "Transforming Healthcare Systems (THCS)" aims to encourage the optimization of patient care pathways and contribute to the transition towards more sustainable, efficient, resilient, ethical, high-quality, and accessible person-centered healthcare systems. It will open on 14 March.

Audacious Medical Grant Oncology call is open

The Audacious Medical Grant (AMG) is a funding tool financed by private donations and legacies received by the FNRS.

It supports medical or biomedical research projects that are original, daring and creative, but which do not find support in traditional funding channels because of a lack of preliminary data, absence of previous work or unusual methodology.

The term "bold" means that there is a significant risk that the project will produce little or no tangible scientific result because of its novelty or complexity.

The AMG-Oncology is not a Télévie-dependent funding instrument but the FNRS uses the expertise of its Scientific Commission to conduct the evaluation of submitted projects. There is therefore no notion of cumulation between the AMG-ONCO 2023 call and the Télévie 2023 call.
