Results of the 2024 bilateral call for projects between the FNRS and the NSFC (China)

The FNRS, in partnership with The National Natural Science Foundation of China - NSFC (China), is pleased to announce the results of the call launched in March 2024 under the instrument known as ‘PINT-BILAT-M’ (bilateral research mobility projects).

22 applications were submitted and the agencies jointly selected 9 projects for funding. See the selected projects 

Each team funded by the FNRS will receive a maximum of €15,000 over a two-year period to finance travel, scientific workshops/conferences and, possibly, operating costs. The projects will be carried out in collaboration with Chinese teams, which will be funded by the NSFC (China).

Project duration and maximum budget

The maximum amount of requested funding per project is 300.000 EUR for a total period of 3 years.

Eligibility rules

All eligibility rules and criteria can be found in the PINT-MULTI regulations. This call is co-funded by the European Commission (see article III.6).

Forms to be submitted

Applicants to F.R.S.-FNRS funding must submit an administrative application on e-space within 5 working days after the general deadline of the FutureFoodS call to be eligible. Please select the “PINT-MULTI” funding instrument when creating the administrative application. 

Admitted costs

Please note that personnel costs (Article III.6) have an annual average cap of 80,000 euros for this call. For the administrative application on e-space, costs such as “Consumables”, “Travel”, and “Other” should all be included in the “operating expenses” category in the form.

For “overhead” costs:

Operating expenses: up to 1% within the granted budget. This percentage should be included in the requested operating budget.

Personnel: up to 2% outside of the granted budget. This percentage will be paid upon reimbursement of expenses to institutions by the F.R.S.-FNRS.

Opening of the call for proposals for the EUI Doctoral Grants - “European University Institute”

The European University Institute has opened its annual call for proposals for the period 2025-2026 for doctoral fellowships in the following four disciplines: History and Civilization, Economics, Law and Political and Social Sciences.

Submissions can be made directly on the EUI website until January 31, 2025 at 2pm.

Applicants eligible for the F.R.S.-FNRS must comply with the eligibility rules set out in the “ European University Institute (EUI) of Florence Doctoral Fellowship ” regulations.

Opening of the call Water4All Partnership 2024 “Water for Circular Economy” (2)

The Joint Transnational Call (JTC) is launched in the framework of the European partnership Water4All and supports research and innovation projects to improve water security in the long term.

In line with the strategic objectives of Water4All, the results should contribute to the implementation of evidence-based, global, EU and national water management policies and strategies, within the frameworks of the Green Deal, Water Framework Directive, Just Transition and the Water Action Agenda for UN Sustainable Development Goals.
